ADO at Kaleidoscope Festival

by ADO Elders on 06/07/11

Sisters Sarah and Caroline (of Kanata, Ontario and St. Hubert, Quebec, respectively) will be presenting an Intro to ADO at this year's Kaleidoscope Gathering (http://www.kaleidoscope-gathering.ca/) 27 July to 1 August 2011 at Raven's Knoll Campgrounds outside Eganville, Ontario.  On staff for this Gathering are some well-known names in pagandom, such as Druid author and professor, Brendan Myers.  If you're able to attend you will be well repaid for your efforts!  A good (and edifying) time shall be had by all!

ADO Novices Present at Gaia Conference

by ADO Elders on 06/07/11

Sisters Sarah of Kanata, Ontario represented the Avalon Druid Order (ADO) at this year's Gaia Gathering & Conference in Montreal, Canada, where she presented a paper on Traditional Astrology and the Sacred Year.  The paper was well received and we're delighted to see Sarah showing her talents in this way and proud to have her represent our community!

2011 Public Events

by ADO Elders on 01/04/11

ADO has long advocated holding occasional public ceremonies as a means for new Seekers to meet us and become more familiar with ADO beliefs and practices. However, proper ceremony requires at least five (preferably ten) experienced members to officiate and prepare our guests to participate meaningfully in the proceedings. Until recently, this has meant that local circles and Groves with fewer than ten members were unable to host ceremonies. Therefore Core Members have spent time creating a variety of modest, local events that require fewer members to coordinate them. We hope to offer these events sometime in the coming year. Details will be posted at our Members Forum!

2011 Public Workshops

by ADO Elders on 01/04/11

Curious about the ADO, but not sure you're ready to take the plunge and enrol in the Aspirant Course? You may soon be able to explore your options face-to-face at a Weekend Workshop. A series of workshops for the public is currently being tested by ADO Core Members and may become available to the public in the near future. Details will be published at the ADO Forum.

Welcome

by ADO Elders on 01/04/11

The Avalon Druid Order (ADO) works hard to keep members and Seekers apprised of our latest projects and events. In addition to our Forum (Events-Forums page) and Chats we publish a free e-Journal, "Messenger of the Gods", two to three times each year. But being busy little bees, things often come up between publications. We'll be using this Blog to post about these issues. Your comments, suggestions and observations are welcome. (Please keep it courteous, keep it legal, and keep it pertinent.)
